This is the side up against the roof,
obviously. The shiny black areas you
can see are where I've patched,
3-8-09. The white patching that you
see is what I did a month or two ago.
This is the new chimney cap I put on.
This is showing the ledge of bricks that
is possibly where the leak is coming
from.
This is showing the inside of the
chimney cavity. Notice the back side of
the plywood is dry.
This is showing where the lintel is
closest to the house up against the
roof. The inside cavity of the chimney
would be to your left, the living room
would be to your right. Notice it's dry/
This is showing how the back side of
the plywood is dry inside the chimney.
The little water that you see at the
bottom is from water being wicked up
from the lintel, not dripped down from
the top.
This is showing how the lintel is
dripping the width of the chimney. It's
just dripping off on the left side, but it's
leaking all the way across. This is
inside the ceiling above the wall.
This is showing the roof joist wicking
up water.
This is showing the panel I removed
from the ceiling.
This drawing represents how your
chimney is put together. The brown
spot represents where the water is
leaking on your ceiling. Note the
possible leak area that may be letting
water get behind the bricks all the way
down to the lintel. I will have to get up
on the roof and spray the hose starting
from the roof area and work my way
up. If we notice a leak before we get
the hose to the top of the chimney,
then we will know it's still the roof. I
believe the roof is dry, and somehow
the chimney is leaking. We'll just have
to keep trying,

I was right! The
Fourth time........ I
found the leak. This
is an example of how I can
communicate with my
customers to help them
understand what needs
done. This is very helpful
when a customer is always
at work and I rarely see
them. She only paid
for The Chimney
cap and 1 roof
repair. I warranty
my work.
There has never been a better time to get a deal on home repairs. Please call now to get on the schedule. I'm almost giving my labor away. When my schedule gets full the savings will not be as great.
