In this picture, you're looking at a
Princeton tub. It's $269, plus tax. This
is just a basic tub with a few benefits
that keep the water warmer longer.
This is a basic steel tub. It's $97.
Nothing special, nothing fancy.
This is a Jacuzzi tub. It's $698, plus tax.
I installed this for one other customer.
They're very happy with it. I believe it
requires an additional heater. This tub
is deeper than most. The other people
I installed this for say they use it as
their main shower, even with it being
so deep. They use handrails I mounted
to help them get in and out of the tub
safely. I built a beautiful bathroom with
a large walk-in shower just across the
hall from this bathroom, and they still
prefer stepping over this edge
(they
sit down and spin into the tub)
and
using this one, so it must not be that
bad.  This is an acrylic tub.
These are the prices of the tub below
this picture. On the left it breaks it
down so that you can buy the tub and
walls separately. This tub is okay, but
very basic. It has some nice contours
for arm rest. I wonder if the grooves on
the back side would make cleaning
difficult. With the walls and tub, it's just
a little over $700, without a heater.
This is from Menard's. This is
fiberglass or plastic.
These next two pictures are Lowe's
version of their inexpensive whirlpool
tub. They call it Vikrell, so I don't know
if this is fiberglass or acrylic. I think it's
similar to acrylic. This looked like a
nice tub for the cost. This is $497, plus
tax, for the tub only. The bottom
picture shows the surround, which is
an additional $260.
This is the cost of the heater at Home
Depot, $209.

Below is the cost of the heater at
Menard's; it's $198.
This is a Kohler cast iron tub, similar to
what you have now. This is $330 plus
tax from Home Depot.

almost giving my labor
away.  When my
schedule gets full the
savings will not be as
great.
This is an Eljer Patriot acrylic tub.
Acrylic has a deeper shine and prettier
look than fiberglass. This one is $700,
plus a heater.
If it were up to me, I would either go
with the enhanced steel tub from
Lowe's or the less expensive whirlpool
at Lowe's. The cheaper one at Lowe's
would be $500, and then you could
ceramic from there up.  Or you can
settle for the tub surround with corner
shelves that is in the bottom picture.
The tub surround would save you the
cost of tile installation.

If the jet features are important to you,
I would possibly upgrade to the
whirlpool at Home Depot for $699 or
the Jacuzzi at Lowe's for $699. I like
the jet features on the one from Home
Depot if you're going to go to one of
the $699 tubs.
This is an acrylic tub from Home
Depot. It's $700. It's got some really
nice jet features that may be important
to you.
This is an example of how I
can communicate with my
customers to help them
understand what needs
done. This is very helpful
when a customer is always
at work and I rarely see
them.
